| Chained Angel
By: Audra DeMasi These chains are wrapped around her holding her to the ground Like a bird whose wings are clipped Shell never be free How can you hold an Angel?, Hold her against her will Her eyes have dimmed Broken spirit within As time passes by, Sand pouring like a river, the less her wings lift, the more her soul dies, the darker her eyes shine, a turn for the worse, or best, perhaps? Her wings lift once more A day dreaded by all when an Angel, so pure and white turns cold and blackHer chains holding her no more. |
