Chapter Two
Back

The walk back was quiet. Seid was carrying Tekk, after refusing to let me and we laid her in the room me and she had slept in just hours before. Neither of us could be-lieve what had happened. Benji, the kid who showed us this place, befriended us and be-trayed us. Tekk knew something about him was funny. She had told us that from the be-ginning, but we didnt listen to her. I know now we should have killed Benji when we first had the chance way back when. But we didnt and now Tek was gone.

I closed the door as Seid walked past me. I stood there in silence, listening to Seid out in the kitchen till I heard him swear. I ran out there. What are you looking for?

Where did Benji put that box of cards we got? he kicked the cabinet door and slammed his fist on the counter. Im gonna kill that little son of a bitch if its the last thing I do.

You wont be able to get close to him. I crossed my arms. Its just a lost cause.

Seid turned to me. Lost cause? That little bastard killed my sister Akira! Be-cause of you Tek

Ah, no, dont go blaming this on me! Whos the one that trusted him first?! Whos the one who decided this would be the perfect place to hide out? That wasnt me Seid! And you know it. Youre at just as much fault here as I am! And I know he killed Tekk! But try to think about this logically for a moment, we will never be able to get to him. They know were gonna want to kill him, so theyll be waiting for us to show up. Or theyll come here looking for us. I stopped as Seid looked at me.

Akira I think Tekk wore off on you. Thats it. We need to get out of here! Theyll come back here. We cant have any place that we return to, keep moving around the city that way they cant track us!

Oh boy. Yeah, hes lost it. A great idea, dont get me wrong, but there are only so many places you can hide in a city that wont turn you in, especially in this city. Every-where you go there are agents or people working for them. Its like a zoo! Um, Seid, and what about all the informers about the city?

He shrugged. Well kill them too. I want them dead. They killed my sister.

I know, but there isnt much we can do.

Akira! Did you see the same thing I did?! They forced you to watch that too, right? They raped her till they killed her! Or close to it and she died before we had the strength to get up! Are you just going to live with that fact and not do anything or are you going to help me kill every last prick that was there today!?

I clenched my fists and looked away from him. I refuse to cry in front of that per-son. Yeah, Ill help you. But on one condition. Who ever comes across Benji first kills him.

There was a small pause in his reply. Done Akira. Now, lets get outta here.

There wasnt much to pack and we were out of that small underground hell hole in a matter of minutes. We had no idea of where we were going to go, so we just headed back to our first stop. In the old city where we first were. The place was just as we left it. Not a thing was differentwell not except for the layer of dust to mark the fact that no one had been there.

Seid sat at the window and tapped his fingers quietly. So things were going to be quiet. Thats okay; Ive never had much to say to Seid, just to Tekk. I sat at the table and watched out the window from a few feet away. Seid never moved. It was incredible. I wonder if anything is racing through that mind. MeI cant stop thinking at all. Ive always had a busy mind.

The man known as Ikerus Martin hasnt been seen since the day he let the three of us walk away. The look on Seids face was oneI cant describe it to you. It was al-most as if he knew the old man was kind-hearted, not just letting us walk to kill us an-other day. Almost as if Seid would return the favor one day. As he did that Petri Burns kid Tekk always would bring up. Whoever he was, he must have meant a lot to Seid or else he wouldnt let a name like Burns affect him like it does. At the mention of the name he stops; in all actions. In killing, fighting, thinking for that matterexcept about him. It was like that with Benji Leigh too, although Seid wants to kill him now. Me too. He was the basis of Tekks brutal murder and Seid wants Leigh killed. Dead. Probably more so than Benji wants us deadand he knew all along. He played the three of us for the fool and wonwell, for the temporary win at least. Seid is working on a plan now. He must be; sitting there doing nothing less than two feet away from me. I just want to kill him! Benji, I mean, that Ikerus guy too. What kind of a name is that anyway?

Besides, I dont understand. The Special Forces either want us dead or to lead their army. Army for what? Theyve already conquered the planet. Killed millions of people. All I know is that who evers going to kill me, Im fighting back. Its kill or be killed and theres no way Im going to let a mere Human take me down. Im not entirely sure why, but I dont think me nor Seid are going to be able to rest until every last Spe-cial Force Agent is dead. Or every one involved in Teks demise is killed. I cant get that day out of my head. Ive never felt so weak! Neither of us could help her and what if we could?! Would she still be alive?! You never know what you have until its gone right?

Tek kept the three of us together. We both loved her. I just wish I could have told her. Neither one of us are ever going to be able to forget her nor rest until we feel wevewhat the? Ah great. More Agents. Fakka.

Seid stood up and took aim with his pistol. With out the slightest warning he fired off the two shots that killed both of them. Then he turned to me. You have the ammo right?

I just looked at him. Huh? Yeah, right here. I picked up my backpack and handed him a box of bullets.

I knew it was going to be one of those days. Two days after Tekks death. I should have known theyd be looking for us in the city already. God knows they couldnt get into Benjis house. Not after the way we made that house a tomb. And Seid was al-ways willing to fight. That we all knew. Well I knew it for a fact. I bet the Special Forces knew too, but no telling for sure.

And the plan? What plan? I knew Seids plansshoot first, ask questions later. Although now I bet it changed a little. Shoot the mother-fuckers first, gain revenge for Tekks murder; ask questions later. Yup, thats Seid for you.

He flew out the door, still slamming the clips into his pistols. I saw that name Bronze flash on the handle of one as he opened the door. I looked down at mine as it sat on the table. The name Akira plain as day. The other pistol was in my hand; that too bore the name Akira. Come to think about it, so did my katana. Bronze on his pistols. Tekk on hers. Was there a meaning to this madness?!

I put it behind me as I followed Seid out the door and into the street. It was sunny and warm. The Agents were wearing sunglasses as well. I came out of the door firing, covering for Seid and myself. The echoes of the firing was deafening, but I didnt hear it anymore. I was concentrating more on the Agents in front of us.

The Agents were many, but one after one they fell and we kept moving. Slowly one step, then another, we walked slowly towards them, firing rapidly.

Fuck! I turned to Seid as he threw the pistols down and ran head long into the fray of Agents. He was instantly absorbed by the black sea and I was soon to follow, sword drawn, cutting down Agents left and right.

I saw one Agent fall back into another and thats when I realized they had stop-ping firing on us. As soon as Bronze entered their numbers, they set the guns aside. Dis-tracted by their fallen comrade, I took the opportunity to grab guns and fire.

The two right in front of me fell even before the echo of the shots sounded. I heard Seid yell and saw a third Agent fall to the ground. He was still going. So was I. I had seven shots in all in the two pistols I held in my hands. And they left chamber quickly.

Seven more Agents dead within seconds and two more wounded from flying pis-tols. This day was going to end in a fucking mess. I could feel it. I turned to see Seid get punched in the jaw and a group of Agents pounce on him as I drew my swordit hap-pened that fasthe was once again pinned to the ground. I took a running lunge into the fray, but even before I could reach Seid, I felt some one grab my arm and something hit me in the back of the head.
