| Chapter One
Back The rain came out of no where. There we were. Trapped in the middle of the Special Forces, caged in like the lab rats we had unknowingly and unwillingly become. The thun-der cracked and it fell silent. No one moved and no one spoke. The only sound heard was Tekk setting into a stance, the dirt grinding into the pavement under her boot. A second later, there was this terrible cracking and popping sound as she closed her fist into a ball, ready for what ever they threw at her. The rain came in a sudden rushing down poor. In sheets, harder then I had ever seen or remembered. Seid was side-tracked by Benji, and his eyes were pinned on him. We all knew that the fucking little bitch was his. Me and Tekk had all the other people to fight with anyway. We knew we wouldnt get out alive, but hell, we were going to try it! Things happened all at once. The lightning cracked with a loud snap of thunder and Tekk let out a yell as she ran into the fray of black suited men. We werent far be-hind. I lost Benji and Seid instantly. I only saw Seid take a single step towards Benji before I was sidetracked by one of the agents that was ready to take a shot at me. I lost Tek too. I heard her yell and I could hear her fighting against the agents around her, but I couldnt see her. I couldnt see much of anything. It had gotten so dark so fast that I had a hard time focusing on the fight I was engaged in. It confused me actu-ally, I can usually see in the dark, but with the rain it was difficult. The first few agents I came in contact with were a cinch, but as I grew more tired and more concerned about Tekk and her brother, the sloppier I got in my style. The fight was long and we were soon all exhausted; but still they came. Then it happened. It hit me harder than I though possible. It hit me harder then the day Seid kicked my ass. A single punch and I went spinning to the ground. I landed with a hard thud and bounced once. I can replay the image slowed down in my mind. I was about to flip to my back when some one pinned me down at the shoulders, holding down my arms. I felt knees slam into my lower back and at the feet. Some one else turned my head to the side as the Forces stepped back as if afraid that I had some sort of deadly dis-ease and I was going to kill them. I would have if I could have gotten up too. Then I saw Seid. The same thing happened to him as it did me and I saw Benji turn his head to face me. Well, he said above the pounding rain that was in my ears. The two Neoweapons we have feared and I have studied for so long arent as tough as you all thought, are they? No one spoke. Except Tekk, that is. You son of a bitch! All this time all youve been doing is planning this day, havent you?! From the beginning, you been planning the demise of I wish I could have got up. Benji walked over to Tekk and without a word punched her across the face. She turned with it and when she turned back I saw her spit the blood to the ground. Seid did try to get up, but I knew I wouldnt have a chance, so I watched helplessly as Benji started the worst night of my life. I refuse to go into details, you want those, maybe Seid will give them to you. I hate talking about it even for this small amount of time. No person should ever have to go through what Tek did and we both blame the other for not being able to get up to help her. But we blame ourselves more. We should have known. The way Benji spoke about Tekk and the way he always watched her, we should have known it would come down to that if he got his chance. She took some down with her. She always did put up a fight. Tekk shot and killed with the twelve bullets she had in her pistols before they pinned her down and Benji became the first of many to ravage her. The rain, the laughter, the crying, the weak-ening calls for help. I dont and cant possibly understand how one Human could do that to another. Didnt any of the men who took her by force have any shred of dignity or moral?! And what about the ones who stood back and laughed during the whole ordeal? Or the ones who held the three of us with our faces to the mud, making me and Seid watch the sickening display they made of Tekk. After what seemed like forever the muttering pleas of stop and whimpering cries of help stopped and I heard the laughter of the men increase greatly as I saw them stand up and walk away from Tekks non-moving form. Slowly the pressure and grip on my body was lifted away, but I was too cold, weak and shocked to move as the Special Forces walked away from the three of us, Benji leading the pack. Neither of us understood and neither of us could move to see if Tekk was still breathing or not. The rain stopped shortly after the agents left. And after the longest point in time I managed to pull myself to my hands and knees. Seid was up faster then I was, but that didnt matter, he had already confirmed our worst fear. He looked up to me and for the first time ever I thought I saw him show emotions. Shes gone Akira. They killed her. That was the worst thing that Seid could ever say to me and it wasnt even his fault. The project entitled Neoweapons was now down to two. And we werent going to go down with out a fight! Or with out revenge on the people who so brutally murdered Tekk. |
