| Chapter One
Back It started about a week ago. With no sudden notice, they took a kid, Jene DeVowe, and marched him to the soccer field. Every one in sight watched in horror as one of the two men knocked Jene to his knees. The second drew a pistol from his waist. He leveled the weapon against Jenes forehead and fired, never giving it a second chance. The shot ech-oed. Off trees, buildings, the ground, other echoes, as Jene, once a carefree brown haired, blue-eyed seventeen-year-old fell backwards, bending at an awkward angle, to the blood soaked ground. The two men turned, never looking at the body or anything else as they got into their black Sadan and drove away. The two men were never seen again, but things buckled down in the area. See, Jene had been part of a small group of people. They didnt hurt anybody, it was of a re-search based organization more than anything, but if their ideas were let loose to the pub-lic, the whole planet, and the Colonies, would be lost. They had plans and maps of ways to destroy an entire country with the press of a button. They invented a thing called a Nu-cular Shine and created the first legit Cyborg. This group of unknowns also did good though. The Colonies for example. They created plans for them from structural lay out, to ways of making an artificial atmosphere. But whatever was going on, those two men knew Jene was involved and were de-termined to get rid of him. Kill the younger, more dangerous ones first. We have a very complicated system. |
