Chapter Seven
Back

About a week went by before Heero was allowed to return home. The others had insisted that Duo let them take over and that he go home to get some sleep. Reluctantly, Duo had followed orders, but only once Heero had agreed to it as well.

Quatre and Trowa drove Heero home and he found the door opened when he got there. Not unusual, Duo had never locked the door before why would he start now? It was quiet though, as if Duo wasnt even home.

Heero knew he was though, the car was in the driveway. Heero shuddered, remembering that nightmare from the coma. Quietly walking through the house, Heero happened upon the bathroom door. It was closed and Heero knew instantly where Duo was.

Knocking on the door, he waited for an answer. There was a quiet com in and Heero opened the door. Duo was lying in the tub, his hair loose, head back against the wall, eyes closed. Heero sat across from the tub on the toilet. Glad to see youre home, Duo said not moving. Are you okay?

Did you mean what you said? Heero said point blank.

I said a lot of things, Duo tapped his fingers on the edge of the tub, new bandages on his hand. He looked down at his hand, then over to Heero. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. But, yes, I meant what I said. Its taken me a long time to realize it, then it took me longer to be able to admit it, but

Duo Heero put his forearms on his knees and looked at the floor. He was quiet for a moment and so was Duo. The only sound made was from a drop of water as it landed in the tub, the ripples bouncing off any surface it came across. I love you too.
