Heero stepped back again, bumping into the car parked in the driveway. �No, you�re not real. You can�t be; I killed you!�
�Heero,� Duo reached out with his hand as blood pooled on the dirt near his foot. �I am real; as real as you are.� With a smile, Duo titled his head. �Just come back to me.�
Heero tried to back farther away from Duo, but the car wouldn�t let him go any farther. �I killed you!� Heero said again as Duo stepped towards him. �I shot you! I� I� I��
�No,� Duo slammed his hand against the side of the car and blood splattered against Heero�s face. �You did this to me.� Duo looked to his hand, then back to Heero, locking blue eyes to blue eyes. �That�s all you did. Wake up and the blood will go away. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. The�War�Is�Over. And you can�t die on me now; I won�t let you.�
Duo narrowed his eyes and grabbed Heero by the shirt collar with his bloody hand. �Blood will go away. The wound will heal. If you don�t fight this, I will go away. Is that what you want?�
Heero looked away from the eyes, those piercing eyes, to the ground and mumbled.
�What?�
�I said, no, Duo.� Heero said quietly. He knew Duo was right, but he couldn�t figure out what he was talking about. Fight what? Where was Duo going to go? He had said he would never leave and Duo was good on his word. �Go where?� he asked quietly.
�Just away,� Duo lowered his eyebrows for a second. Letting go of Heero�s shirt, he caressed his cheek with the back of his hand, leaving a smear of blood across it. �I don�t want to go, but I have to.�
�Go where.� This time Heero demanded to know the answer. With a smile, Duo grabbed Heero by the back of his head, gripping his hair tightly and kissed him hard. Heero leaned forward into the kiss to get away from the pain of Duo�s hand, but then found himself returning the familiar kiss.
Pulling away, Duo�s expression hardened. �Wake up.� Roughly he threw Heero back against the car. Heero hit his head and fell towards the ground, noticing the blood from Duo�s hand that was running down the side of the car.
