A survey of a thousand men and women by beauty company RoC revealed that men don't find women with Geri Halliwell or Kate Moss type figures attractive. Give them a curvy Kate Winslet or Davina McCall any day. How gorge was Kate in Titanic? How great does she look in her D&G dresses with her spectacular cleavage? Has Sophie Dahl ever been short of admirers?
The survey found that women constantly worry about their figures, but men prefer to get cuddly with a fuller figured woman. Women tend to focus on parts of their body that they feel are imperfect. Men look at 'the overall effect' of the body. And no - that doesn't mean what you look like when you're about to redecorate the house. Stop focusing on the bits you hate and look at the bits you're happy with. Then try to forget about those bits you don't like and soon you'll even forget what they were.
So - instead of making yourself lose that 2lbs before you'll even look in the vague direction of a bikini, forget it! Wear what you like! Who (apart from you) is going to notice? I'm a size 12 and I was going out with someone once and we got talking about weight. He said 'but you're slim. You're not fat - like a size 12 or anything, are you?' Trust me - they haven't a clue. They have no idea how much we weigh - well - they wouldn't if we didn't keep saying 'but I HAVE to lose this 3lbs of ugly fat to get to nine and a half stone before I go to that wedding'. They probably wouldn't notice if you put on half a stone. They think anyone smaller than 'danger to unstable structure' is a size 8. All the bits that you think are wobbly, he thinks are cuddly. All the imperfections you can see when you're naked, all he can see is a gorgeous babe.
