It was Spring Break during my sophomore year at Hope College when 19 of us students
got on a plane in Grand Rapids, Michigan and headed for San Diego, California. From there we rented two large white vans and
drove across the border into an entirerly different
world from the one we had left. We were
there to build houses, but we learned so much more...
