| November 24, 2005 So, we all know the crazy is spreading, and it appears to be a disease that has no cure. Since it's Turkey Day, most of the ads on tv involve the sales for tomorrow. Foley's is opening at 6. JC Penney is opening at 5. FIVE. IN THE MORNING. That's just insane. This whole idea of the country shopping on a specific day has never made me happy. Especially when I worked retail. I'm so happy I don't have to work tomorrow, I might stay in all day, just because I can. I was just informed that I am a bad blog person because I haven't updated and let people know the work situation. I do have a job. On the whole, I'm pleased, but it hasn't been the best of starts so far. But it was a short week and I was still adjusting to all the changes in my life right now. Not to mention the having to get up early and drive out to Las Colinas. I'm not complaining though. I'll adjust. My Thanksgiving was good. My friend's mom took me in, and the company and food were both great. They took me in for Christmas last year too. I like going over there. The family are all big James Bond movie fans, so I fit right in. The one problem we had was accidentally setting the dining table on fire. When we cleared the plates and stuff, none of us thought to blow out the candles in the center piece. Some of the fake foliage caught fire and smoldered through their beautiful dining table. It melted the veneer and scorched the wood. And the heat broke the vase in the center. Which was actually good because that put the fire out. See, we were all watching the Cowboys game. Through our closed eyelids. Yeah, that could have been a huge disaster, but fortunately, all people and dogs were unharmed. It was pretty crazy though. I am tired. I don't know if it's the turkey, but either way, it's a great excuse to lay on the couch. Like I needed one. |
