I'm having one of those days where I will dedicate a large portion of my time to not doing anything productive. One of the easiest ways to do that is to update the ole website. So here goes...

The Greenville Ave. St. Patty's Day Parade was this past weekend. Don't ask, I have no idea why it was a week early. I didn't bother with the parade. I just headed down to Greenville and went straight to the drinking. Several groups of people were having parties, so there was no shortage of revelry to be found. I was pleasantly surprise by the lack of craziness during most of the day. We sat in the sun and drank cold beer, ate grilled food and smoked far too many cigarettes. Or maybe the last one was just me.

I never understood why the general population put so much effort into celebrating this particular holiday. Being of Irish heritage, I have to support my brethren through the drinking of the beer. But what's the excuse of the Italians? I suppose I shouldn't be supporting it because the legend of St. Patrick driving the snakes out of Ireland is a metaphor for the Catholic church trying to stamp out the existing Pagan religions. I object to that sort of thing. Let people worship how they will, as long as it doesn't harm anyone or involve actual animal sacrifices. Well, maybe chickens. But that's it!

In other random thoughts: Why is it that when a woman "loses" her man to another woman, she will automatically blame the other woman and absolve the man of all responsibility? That drives me crazy.

"When one woman strikes at the heart of another, she seldom misses. And the wound is invariably fatal." -- Marquis de Mertueil, Dangerous Liasons

Anyhoo... I have to get back to work, so I can keep paying the bizzills. Oh wait, it's lunchtime. I guess I'll have to work later!
