July 31st, 2005

I have had quite the productive day. I finally got most of the crap in the guest bedroom sorted and put into the closet. I've also been doing laundry all day. I have quite the pile to fold and put away before bed. I scrubbed the kitchen, too.

This day of productivity began with a good cup of coffee. Then I went to Breadwinners for breakfast. I haven't done that in a long time. It might be awhile before I go again. I went to the one in Inwood Village. It was pretty busy, but it didn't take long for me to find a spot at the bar. It did take a little bit of time to get some attention, but with the volume they do, it wasn't really a surprise. I ordered what I always order on the weekend: Julio's Huevos. It just wasn't the same though. The one on McKinney always made their plates with a certain kind of careless enthusiasm that made the food really enjoyable. You never really knew the ratio of ingredients you might find in a dish you order everytime. That was sort of half the fun. The food is always excellent and fresh. You know nothing was ever frozen before it went into your food.

Alas, the enthusiasm part seemed to be missing. Everything on my plate seemed precisely placed and measured. Never as much fun.

Then I came home and got to work. I put some music on and bopped around the condo while trying to get some semblance of order to prevail. Admittedly, I still have a lot of work to do. I guess I'll just have to keep slogging away at it. Maybe someday it will look like a person lives here and not a tornado.

Crap, I was going to go put some gas in the car. I don't feel like. Let's hope I remember in the morning and leave myself enough time to do it before work.
