April 3rd, 2005 I'm dating this April 3 because it's after midnight and, technically, Sunday, although most people know my rule about a day lasting until you go to sleep. It's really just a ploy to make my birthday last longer. Anyway, I am pleased to report there were no practical jokes on April Fool's Day. I never really have researched the history behind April Fool's. I guess I'll have to do that someday. The time change happens in three minutes, so I really don't want to deal with it now. My point is I'm not a fan of practical jokes. It seems that, too often, any "jokes" are actually just mean-spirited and not really funny at all. My sixth grade teacher once said it's only a joke if two people are laughing, the joker and the jokee. Speaking of Springing Forward, I always hate this time change. It seems so unnecessary to me. No matter how much I love the weather here in Dallas, and prolonging the late afternoon isn't really a bad thing, the time changes mess with my sleep, and we all know how dangerous that can be. Mike Modano was in Neiman's today. Good LORD! that man is effing hot. I can't explain exactly how it works, because he has one of those faces you can pick apart, ie, the nose is too long, the lips are too thin, etc. But the overall effect is just sexy. I do find it amusing that everyone seems to have a story associated with him. Mention his name and see how many people say something about a friend of a friend who dated him or how they heard he's bad in bed or that he now only dates strippers. Here's my thought about him: As previously stated, he's fucking hot. All I want is for him to stand there and let me look at him. And this morning, he was just standing there and I got to look at him. So, I was happy. It really did make my day. But we all know how much I like pretty things. Random thought: I read something a few weeks ago that said the number of unregistered illegal immigrants had reached 4 million or something like that. My immediate thought was "If the illegal immigrants are unregistered, how do they know how many of them there really are?" Go and rent Closer. It's just amazing. It gets better with subsequent viewings. Ok, I have to go change the clocks. Happy Daylight Savings!
