Music
Jazz : South African jazz, also known as Marabi music provides comfort and dignity to the otherwise  oppressive working class districts.
Classical : The last two remaining opera houses are located in Cape Town and Pretoria.  Composers work off the tension between Africans who 'consciously keep their feet in Africa' and those who stand firmly on the traditions of South Africa.
Food
South African food is a mixture of Indian and Malay food.  In rural communtities they make stew using green vegetables such as : blackjack, pigweed, purslane, thistle or goosefoot.  Umqombothi is a homeomade beer that is not intoxicating and it's mostly considered a food.  Since hunting is very common, they eat buck and even tortoises.
Religion
South African religion is mainly Christian, however, there are many well-established minority religions that have a major impact on South African society.  Bushmen is the oldest known indigenous South African religion.  All that is left of the Bushmen in South Africa are paintings and engravings. All South African Chirstians belong to the group of  African Initiated Churches.
