The Gemini Blue Tuesday Sheet

“A Weekly School-wide Communication from Teachers to Families for School Success”

May 4, 2004

English – Mrs. Rezendes: This week we will continue to work on strategies for answering open response questions about poetry for the MCAS.  We will conclude with a test at the end of the week.

Geography – Mr. Palagi: 1st Meeting: Southwest Africa, a look at the current situation in Iraq; mapping water around Africa; physical id’s, too. 2nd Meeting: Mapping Southwest Asia. 3rd Meeting: Evaluating Southwest Asia. Some continual charting could take place. With in-service and the “Blue Bash” we will meet three times this week. People are losing points for not having supplies, particularly colored pencils which are so important for mapping: (sharpener, hand-held eraser, and pencil soft, also would help)!

Math – Ms. Burgess: This week in math, students in the Red and Orange classes will be wrapping up Chapter 10. Students in Yellow, Green and Blue classes will be finishing work on Chapter 8. All students will be taking Chapter Tests at the end of the week. Have an excellent weekJ

Reading – Mrs. Wheeler: Students have been given a PowerPoint Project for Term 4. Tests and journals will be graded and returned this week. The third journal of Term 4 is due Friday.

Science – Mr. Fisher: This week, we are finishing up our studies of metals, non-metals and metalloids.  We are having our notebook quiz at the end of this week, so students are encouraged to make sure they have all the handouts/notes found on our table of contents in the classroom / web site.  Grades have been updated online (www.mfisher.net) Questions, comments: [email protected].

Educational Support Specialist – Mrs. Baker: Can you believe it—mid-term is Friday!  Are you caught up, or will you be scrambling to make up missing work? Do a little bit every night on your projects, and watch your time management so that you do a quality job. Complete your homework daily and don’t get behind. Let’s have a strong finish to the yearJ

World Languages—Mrs. Borstel and Mrs. Wesley: Book cover projects are due today, 5/4/04. Study vocabulary E. The next quiz is scheduled for Tuesday, May 11th.
