Blue Tuesday Sheet

English – Mrs. Rezendes: This week students are working on a rough
draft of a persuasive essay. The rough
draft is due on Wednesday (red and orange) or Thursday (yellow, green and
blue). Students will get the
opportunity to complete a peer and self review of their essay in class. The final draft will be due on Tuesday,
March 16th (ROY) or Wednesday, March 17th (GB). Have a person, place or thing like week!
Geography –
Mr. Palagi: 1st Meeting:
Introducing Africa. 2nd Meeting: The Great Rift Valley. 3rd
Meeting: Africa’s landforms. 4th Meeting: African culture. Have an African savannah filled week!
Math – Ms. Burgess: This week in math, our focus will continue to be on Circle Geometry and Pi Day! We will be working on “Pi PowerPoint Presentations” in the computer lab on Monday and Tuesday. We will be celebrating Pi Day on Friday! Many students and parents have volunteered to bake or buy pies for our festivities. We will be deriving pi, making pi necklaces, finding hat sizes, and learning more about the history of pi as the week goes on. Remember, Pi Day is actually on Sunday, 3/14. Have a Pi-diddly-licious week, and Happy Pi Day! J
Reading – Mrs.
Wheeler: Students did a wonderful job
researching in the computer lab last week. J J J Now they are using the information they gathered to create the
questions and answers for their “People Past and Present Talk Show.” Q & As are due next Monday for Red,
Orange, Yellow and Green classes and Tuesday for Blue. We will be preparing for a major term 3
reading test to be taken next week as well.
The LAST journals of term 3 are due Friday!!! Keep reading and have a biographical week! (13 days until Bournedale!)
Science – Mr.
Fisher: This
week in Science we will be continuing our introduction to chemistry world
unit. We ended last week with an
activity in which we shared what previous knowledge we had of this topic. Some group earned up to 18 stamps towards
their Bournedale boxes! We will be
having a small quiz this week on Describing Matter. Please study your mind maps that we completed last week in
class. We all received BRAND NEW books
last week, and they should have been covered this weekend. Our Science tests from last week are coming
home this week along with a plus/delta to be signed by student and parent. Have a solid, liquid, gas, plasma and
Bose-Einstein like week! Questions,

World
Languages—Mrs. Borstel and Mrs. Wesley:
Students should be working on their activity/game
sheet project due on March 18th.
This project will review all the vocabulary the students have learned
this year. Progress reports were sent
home on Friday. Please help your child
to make up their missing work. Have a
tres bien like week!
Educational
Support Specialist – Mrs. Baker: Only 8 more school days
until we go to Camp, and afterwards only 7 days more until the end of term
3. Do you have all your work caught up?
Are you meeting deadlines or is time getting away from you? Plan to make a
consistent effort to stay after school this week and next so that you can enjoy
camp without worrying about what you haven’t done or turned in. Check your criteria sheet, action plan and
agenda daily to make sure that you are on track and turning working in on time. Work hard now and enjoy camp. Have a very organized week! J

Camp
Bournedale: Final payment is now due!
Final bills were given out several weeks ago, but if you have any questions
about the amount due—see Mrs. Baker or email at [email protected]
WANTED: Parents, Family Friends, or Neighbors to
help with early evening activities (6:00 to 7:30) at Camp. Come have dinner
with us, then share your expertise (crafts, games, sports/activities), and help
provide a variety of activities for the students. You are also welcome to stay
for our special team activities planned for later in the evening. If you are
interested in helping, or have questions, please contact Mr. Palagi or Mr.
Fisher at (508) 830-4450 x 33 or by email [email protected] or [email protected]. What can you do to help
us? Plan now to come and have fun with us.

Bournedale
Information: All cabin lists have been finalized and
posted for students to see. All
volunteer overnight chaperones and alternates should have received a letter
from Ms. Burgess last Friday including important details about the trip and
their responsibilities. A HUGE THANK YOU to all parents, family
members, and friends who, by volunteering their time, have made it possible for
Camp Bournedale to be an overnight experience.
