The Gemini Blue Tuesday Sheet
“A Weekly School-wide
Communication from Teachers to Families for School Success”
English – Mrs.
Rezendes -
This week we will continue to read Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry.
Students will be moving into literature circles to read and discuss the novel.
Their focus in literature circles will be on using active reading strategies to
fuel their analysis and discussion of the book.
Reading – Mrs.
Wheeler –
Many of the Challenge Logs have been
graded and returned. They have been OUTSTANDING
– congratulations!!! The rest of the
logs were due in today (because of no school on Friday) and will be returned as
soon as possible. We will continue to work with strategies for informational
text, reading newspapers and Teen
Newsweek. Thank you to Dunkin
Donuts for our subscription to USA TODAY
and AAA of Southern New England for our subscription to The Patriot Ledger. We
appreciate their generous support. Term
2 grade reports for reading will be handed out at the end of the week. The reports have the reading grade broken
down into the 4 parts which each count 25% -- journals, class work, project,
and tests. Students are asked to complete a +/D Chart
(what went well and what needs improvement) as part of his/her term 3 action
plan and have it signed by a parent.
Have a great week.
Educational Support
Specialist – Mrs. Baker – Second term ends this week. Make sure that
you have made up everything and turned it in. Next week the new Reading class
