In these remote controls any device key can operate other device types because coding is by selecting a number from a list
ranges for UET609 - tv: 000-268 and 700-758, vcr: 269-370 and 750-758, sat/cbl: 371-523 and 800-883, aux (cd, dvd etc): 524-699.
As there are 800 codes, select the appropriate device before searching for a code! This presets the start position in the search.
To set a code:-
Press and hold [set], press device key - red led lights. Release keys. Enter 3-digit manufacturer's device code from the list. Led goes out and the code is set. If it doesn't work try another or search.
To search for a code:-
Turn on consumer device!
Press and hold [set], press appropriate device key - led lights - release keys - press [set] - led blinks. Press [power] key repeatedly till device is switched to standby - press device key to store the code. If, after releasing the keys, [set] is pressed twice, search runs backward through the list.
Having found the code, it may be useful to write it down, as follows. Press and hold [set] - press [1] and release. Count and record the number of times the led blinks - release [set]!. Repeat for [2] and [3].
Note! The above information is from the manufacturer of the remote controls. In practice, things may be a little different i.e. on the UK Sagem digibox [power] is digit 1 and the power key is [tv/txt]!
These controls can be regarded as old stock and may not contain codes for digiboxes and DVD drives. However, surprising things happen, if a manufacturer is using old codes. The Goodmans GDB3 digibox can use UET609 sat/cbl code 424 and the Sagem ITD59G can use unlisted code 836.
To repeat, the protocols and associated key codes are referred to by a 3-digit control code, taken from a list of 800. You should find the necessary code fairly quickly - within 100 tries, if you select the correct device type.!
There is at least one more remote control in this series and operation should be the same, though the key layout varies between models.
At times, these remote controls can malfunction.
Red Led stays on - Remove the batteries and re-insert them.
Remote Control suddenly stops operating - make sure correct device key is selected. If necessary, re-enter the relevant device code. If this fails leave the batteries out over-night and re-enter the codes.
Use unlisted Sat code 836.
