Medium/Large Format Cameras

sun.gif (3735 bytes)

These cameras are touted as the next step in photography, and with strong reasons. Both have very huge negatives, meaning that prints need less enlargement, resulting in better quality photographs.

PROS

Print quality much better than other formats.
Often the back (including the film) can be removed and a different back added. This allows two films such as colour and black & white can be interchanged mid-film. This is unique to this format.

CONS

These cameras are costly. Generally, they cost above RM 1000.
Medium/Large format have higher processing/printing/film prices.
Cameras are always bulky and often  impractical to carry.
Require support (e.g using tripods).

PROS vs. CONS

A great photographic equipment - is flexible and produces quality prints, but often, portability becomes a problem. At the same price, you could be getting a very high quality SLR. Not recomended for amateur photoraphers and normal users.
