COLTON SCHOOL AGE

WOW! It's been years since I have updated Colton's progress.

When Colton was around the age 4, I started a job at the Postal Service and got so busy that I didn't have much time to keep his progress updated. During the course of my working 7 nights a week for the Postal Service, my father passed away suddenly, I went through major depression, quit my job and basically just had a major breakdown. Now that things are becoming more normal again, I have decided to get back to this website and update it to the best of my recollection.

Between the ages of 4-6, Colton seemed to grow like any other child in height and weight, of course keeping above average and over the grown scales for his age. About the age of 5-6, we began to wheen him off his Phenobarbital. That took a few months but there had been no more seizure activity during or after and still remains seizure free!

At the age of 7yrs old, Colton again needed surgery for more tubes in his ears and a tonsilectomy. He did really well for the surgery and was able to return home the same day. However, later while he was sleeping, about 3am he woke up and was fuzzing. I went to him and I found him covered in blood. His face, down his clothing, his pillowcase all soaked in blood. We rushed him right away back to the Childrens Hospital.

This night was a nightmare! We waited and waited for them to see him in the emergency room. Finally after the doctor came in to see him, they decided to admit him for observation. Luckly he had not been bleeding he whole time since I found him awake in bed. We waited and waited again. They told us that they were having a shift change and they were waiting on a bed to be opened up. Since he had not been bleeding, and none of us had any sleep and were exhausted, we chose to return home. There were no more incidents. ~WHEW~
