Dad is awake today. He scared the hell out of Leah. She was holding his hand, leant down to tell him she was there and he opened both eyes. She got such a shock she jumped back from the bed!
26th March Dad is trying to talk today...we cant understand him but he also gives us hand signals and can wink. They were going to transfer him out of ICU but they didnt have a bed available in a ward. Maybe tomorrow.
27th March
Another big day- dad was moved out of Intensive Care and into the High Dependancy room of a Neurological ward at Monash. So he continues to make huge improvements.
I got a photo without all the machines attached, just before he was moved. He has a nose tube and a tube in his arm, that's it!
28th March
Took Bella for a walk in the forrest... not dad's usual 5km but there was much hiking up hills. It's been awhile since I've walked in the forrest and its easy to forget what tracks turn into steep uphill climbs!
Leah has already been in to see him today and said she understood probably half of what he said. He can swear beautifully! She took him in a whiteboard and a texta so he can practice his left handed drawings... look out world he's on the improve.
When I went in he was tired, but trying to talk at a million miles an hour. He is really frustrated today because he understands us perfectly but we cant understand him. He clearly is trying to tell us important things but we cant comprehend. I think today was a hard day emotionally for everyone. Yesterday he was happy he could communicate at all. Today he is really not happy and told us lots that he wants to come home. Maybe tomorrow we can understand more. He did wiggle his right toe though!
I counted 50 staples in his head and two stitches!
