7th March Heike Kemmer was here for a couple of days and gave Frank some guidance with a couple of the horses he was working. I lunged my lovely Wanesco today- what a lunatic! He was feeling far to energetic and nearly pulled me over twice! Both Ulla and Elisa are not well. I made pancakes for breakfast, yum!Much snow on the ground from yesterday. 8th March Frank posted my handwritten letters for me today, seeing as I have no internet, communication is difficult! Janine the new girl in the stables is teaching me some German- all those words that you dont find in the dictionary!! Dont think they will help much in normal conversation tho! Matthew Dowsley, Cinderella and Rodney arrived tonight after an 8hr delay in Amsterdam. So I have some aussies to talk to! Still snowing a little. 10th March Today I had my first day off in 19 days! I made pancakes again for everyone for breaky and then walked into town. There is very little to do in Bad Worishofen if you are under 50...everything is for the old people. Dont get me wrong, it's gorgeous town, just not much to do for the young people. I did find a chocolate shop which was very nice! In the afternoon I got to watch Frank ride Wanesco...wow, what a horse. And I thought I liked him before, what a powerful horse with movement to boot. Very glad I got to see him in action. 12th March I rode one of the horses here for training today. Was very scared about what they would think. Luckily no-one laughed or told me to get off straight away, so I took that as a good sign. We will see if I get to ride again. 14th March Frau Carstens and her mare Miss Holstein arrived today. She is also mum to Wanesco and Finley. She is amazing, 82years old and goes to all the shows and is super fit. I got an SMS from Axel and Helen today at Belcam- they tracked me down through Kris and got my new number. Helen was getting worried as she hadn't heard anything, it made my day! 16th March I rode again today... a small lesson with Frank. Today I think they were wondering what I am doing there! It was very bad, but I took some comfort in that Frank rode the horse in a snaffle the next morning and found him very hard to ride also. Some solice at least! I am starting to get very tired of cleaning the bars of boxes my fingers have no prints left on them and much blisters! 19th March A beautiful day today... the sun is shining. We had a quick lunch and then sat out in the sun. It was so warm. We had dinner with Frau Carstens at Capri- the great little Italian restaurant in town. When I got home, my phone rang. It was mum to tell me that dad had been rushed to Casey Hospital and was in a critical condition. When I spoke to mum he had been stabilised and they were waiting for the intensive care doctor and ambulance to transfer him to Monash Medical Centre. Here he will see a neurosurgeon straight away. The doctors recommend that I come home as they are not sure if he will make it... |
