Went shopping with Natasja & Pieter for top boots! Took Rocky (their dog) for a walk in the forrest and visited the animal farm. Walked around the market in Haarlem, visited the Fire Station where Pieter works and saw a gorgeous old church. Then went to Mirjam's dressage competition where she rode "Nimble" really well!

We went to an indoor snow ski centre. The family thought I may need to know how to ski incase I need to ski from the house to the stables at Ullas!!Was lots of fun.
Then I went & visited another Jansen Family- Ben, Ingrid, Nick & Ron. While there Luke & Cobi (the only famly members I have met)  also stopped in. Ben & Ingrid still live in the house where dad grew up, so I got a tour of the tiny house where 10 people lived together!

13th Feb
We took the dogs for a walk in the forrest in Heemstede and then visited Hubert and Els.  So apart from John (1 of dad's brothers) & his family and Ken, I think I visited all the family in Holland and got to see the house where dad grew up. Not to mention hearing a few great stories about dad when he was younger from his brothers!

14th-17th Feb
Marjon & Klaas got me on the right train in Haarlem and I was on my way to Ahaus to visit Kris De Doncker. I was luck enough to meet Kris at Belcam Int. last year when he came for a week to ride Capone at the Auction. Kris & his bereiter Rosana picked me up from the banhof, it was nice to finally see a familiar face on the other side of the world!
I had a great 4 days helping Kris out a bit, and of course seeing him ride again. I also went & watched him give some lessons, and saw my first german foals at one of his clients!
On my last night we went to the movies and I saw a german dubbed "The Fog". It was interesing to try & translate!
As you will see from the photos the stables he works from are sensational and he has a few nice horses too!

Kris dropped me off at the train station & I began my 9 hour train trip from North West Germany to the South. After watching much of Germany roll past through the train window, I arrived in Bad Worisofen and was greeted by Ulla's stable Manager- Herr Frank Freund. Then I got my first glimpses of stall Salzgeber, before having a lovely 3 course dinner with Ulla's husband Sebastian & Daughter Kim.
