The Kiev Ecological and Cultural Center
The Kiev Ecological and Cultural Center (KECC) is a non-governmental charity organization, which was created in 1989 and has expanded its activity on the territory of Ukraine.
The Center:
Projects
protected areas possessing natural and cultural value (over 100 such areas were
created for the last 3 years), deals with biodiversity protection;
Publishes
a bulletin and books on nature conservation (over 50 books were published for
the last 3 years), publishes Humanitarian Environmental Magazine and
ornithological journal Berkut (commonly with the Young Ornithologists’
Union of Ukraine);
Develops
issues of humanitarian ecology (environmental ethic, aesthetics, ethnography,
theology, culturology), fulfills an international project «Love to nature»;
Carries
out natural conservation propaganda, environmental education and antimilitary
activity;
Provides
informational, methodical, and consultative aid to governmental and public environmental
organizations of Ukraine;
Holds
seminars on biodiversity protection, preservation, natural conservation propaganda,
environmental journalism, humanitarian ecology, etc.;
Coordinates
«The March of Parks» in Ukraine.
