Both fellows used to work in a bank and both were unhappy.They were sharing a common dream: becoming pilot.
Every day Stefano and Francesco used to go to the office at quarter past eight (even if Stef was often late!) and leave at five pm after having been listening to customer's and boss' complaints.
Everything was so incredibly boring and stressfull that one day Francesco decided to talk to Stef about how to build up a more interesting future.
Francesco got to the bank at fifteen past eight and waited for Stef who obviously was late again and said to him: "Last night, surfing the net, I discovered some Australian flying schools where the prices are less than half of what we pay here in Italy?" Stefano stared at Francesco quiet skeptical and said: "You know that I'd like to....but you know....it is a very far place, we should quit the job and who's going to help me in the future?" In that moment the boss showed up and shouted: "Again you two idlers, get on the job otherwise I'll fire you both!"
That was when Stef asked Francesco: "Listen Kekko, where exactly are these flying schools? How much is it to become a pilot? Have you saved something?" Francesco answered: "You know that I'm broke, but I'm sure that we can make it with the superannuation".
"Done" got back Stefano sounding very firm. A month later since that day Stefano and Francesco were on board of a Qantas 747 direct to Brisbane (Australia). As soon as they got off the Australian 747 the two former bank employees met friendly people and wild landscapes which they had never seen before in the world! Six months later Stefano and Francesco became two commercial pilots. They live in Marcoola, a welcoming little town on the Sunshine Coast, hundred meters from the Pacific Ocean and three hundred from the airport with 310 sunny days each year. Stefano and Francesco forgot what a raincoat is and every morning, after a huge breakfast, they get on the aeroplane and fly over the most beatiful Australian Great Barrier Reef. One day Francesco got up in the morning and asked Stefano: "Do you regret the choice we made??" A wide-open smile appeared on Stefano's face........
Drawing the moral out of this: if you are a bit fed up with the everyday life and your dream is becoming a pilot, here in Australia there's room for anybody.
P.s. We wouldn't go back to the bank even if they offered me 10.000$ AUS a month !!!!!!!!!!
