Not to be confused with his debut album of the same name, this is Ricky Martin's first English-language release following the excitable Latin pop of Vuelve. From Menudo to "General Hospital" to Broadway, the 27-year-old Martin recently garnered a rep in the U.S. for goosing up the Grammys, and the Latin firecracker's fifth album appropriately offers plenty of spark.
Kicking it off with the hit single "Livin' La Vida Loca" -- an infectious guitar-and-brass-based spy thrilla -- Martin alternates giddy dance ("Shake Your Bon Bon") with somber ballads ("Bella [She's All I Ever Had]").

"The Cup of Life," a.k.a. "La Copa de la Vida" (the '98 World Cup theme and '99 Grammy phenomenon), is captured for multiple play pleasure in "Spanglish" -- the best of both Martin's worlds. Add to that a duet with Madonna ("Be Careful [Cuidado Con Mi Corazón]") and the Spanglish version of Martin's huge international hit "María," and Ricky Martin -- the man and the CD -- is hurdling cultural boundaries toward greater global success.
