Review from CDNow
The rather frightening preeminence of boy bands in the American pop cultural consciousness has thus far not extended to their U.K. counterparts (Boyzone, Five, et al). This is true despite the fact that most U.K. boy bands are a lot like most American boy bands, except that they often have better hair and names like Kian instead of Lance.
The latest overseas outfit to take a run at the hearts and wallets of American teenage girls is the Irish fivesome Westlife, whose self-titled debut features a truckload of irresistible, harmony-heavy pop tracks (like the enormously entertaining soon-to-be-hit "Swear It Again") and lyrics that are marginally better than those of their peers.

A closing, cover version of Extreme's hit "More Than Words," while a daring idea in theory, lacks the, um, power Gary Cherone and Nuno Bettencourt brought to the long-ago original.
