The ranking of the Rangers has nothing to do with activities or attendance, but is based on the Ranger character portrayed in the story and background. For example, someone who would see themselves as a Ranger who is adventuresome and willing to face danger may be an Elite, where someone who would be much more wary of their surroundings and situations would be either a cadet or a low-ranking Ranger.
CadetThe beginning and lowest ranking of the Rangers, Cadets are those who are in training and strive to be accepted into full Ranger status.
RangerAlthough the City and Forest Rangers earn Red stars while the Falconers earn Blue, the ranking system for both remains the same. After completing the Cadet program, Ranger status is earned. After this stage, the Ranger has the chance to be called on greater missions.
Elite RangerSome Rangers, after achieving the rank of 1st Class Ranger, choose to continue training. The Elites are called on the toughest and most dangerous of the missions. Not everyone has the physical or mental training to make it to Elite status, but those who do are held in high respect.
