AWAKENING
As spring arrives
We begin our search
for love with a starving heart
Just as a waking bear
searching for its first meal
after a long winters nap
With flowers blooming
and a fragrance in the air
New life can be found
A fresh meal
for the hungry bear
New Love for
our starving hearts
Regaining our strength
with newness all around
Rekindling feelings
that were kept safely
buried down
Doing our best
to compromise
With renewed spirits
we find our inner strength
to carry on despite our fears
For this is a new year
and a time to let go
and begin again
with love
