#7. Tramcar at Belleville - Oil on canvas
The tramcar was in the early years of the 20th century an important transport form in the suburbs of the capital, Bridgetown. Gradually replaced by the motor omnibus, the tramcar is reminiscent of a bygone age of gentility, when the pace of life was much slower. The house in Belleville, once an exclusive and racially segregated community developed at the turn of the century still exists, though the stately royal palms are aging rapidly
