WEST UNION, OHIO -Funeral services are to be conducted at 10 a.m. Sunday at Sunshine Church for Mert Cooper, 99 of Jefferson Township. Cooper died Friday Morning at a nursing home in Portsmouth, He was a retired farmer. Born March 30, 1864, in Adams County, he was a son of Amaziah Cooper and Rebecca "Hodge" Cooper. Surviving are four daughters , Mrs. Katie Moore and Mrs. Pearl Sissel, both of Blue Creek, Mrs Rebecca Riggs of Stout, and Mrs. Sarah Gassell of Monroeville, Ohio, and two sons Jonas and Morton Cooper, both of Blue Creek, Ohio. Rev W. E. Mills is to officiate at the services, with burial in the church cemetery under the direction of Lafferty's Funeral Home of West Union. Friends may call the Funeral Home.
