| My Times are in Your Hand My times are in Your hand; The time for birth, the time for mirth, The time for breath, the time for death; My times You have long planned. For since the dawn of time, You know all things, Thou King of kings; The great I AM, the humble Lamb Who died to pay my crime. The masses shout, "What crime?" For they believe if they achieve Good works enough, that they can bluff Their way, to heaven climb. O saddened multitude! Their filthy rags and moneybags Will not avail. God will prevail, And such will not include. But trusting in Your Son Is surely sure; though I am poor, Yet you are rich in grace, to which I cling, the saving done. Thus by Your strength I stand, Through trials grim and valleys dim; Help me to grow in how to know My times are in Your hand. Inspired by Psalm 31:15a. Adrian C. Keister, February 19, 2003. The Vanity "The world is vain," the Preacher cries, "And vanity of vanities." And all things do only reprise What has been done before. Are these Things new? It has already been In ages past. The wind doth blow To south and goes 'round north. And when The streams run to the sea, they flow Back to the place from whence they came. What has been is what shall be, and What has been done is still the same. Under the sun there is no hand To something new. But all is heard, And matters have their end. To fear The Lord and to obey His Word Is man's duty. This shall you hear! Adrian C. Keister, March 29, 2004 |
