"The King of Late Night" has often been the phrase used in describing Conan O'Brien.  Well, no more.  Conan is not the King of Late Night, Conan is the King of Comedy.  Period.
Every night on Late Night, the first thing you see is the Max Weinberg 7 enthusiastically playing their introduction piece for the host - and after 10 years, their perpetual nightly enthusiasm alone is saying a lot.
And out walks the host... tall (despite what your television might deceive you into believing), sharp featured, and immediatly animated.  His trademark dance finished off with a jump instantly puts you in what Conan likes to call "The Laugh Zone."
Although Conan's opening monolgue may not always have the best of jokes (don't get me wrong, often they're histarical), Conan is able to take even the lamest joke and make it hilarious using physical, animated comedy played off audience reactions with a charm and wit uniquely Conan.  His laugh and smile are infectious and his facial expressions endless and hilarious.  You can't help but smile and sympathize with his innocence and self bashing.
His sincerity is unmissbale; he is always completely and genuinely interested in his guests and what they have to say.  In an interview with Conan, he said it is his job to make every interview on his show funny and to make his guests feel comfortable.  He never thinks "oh, that guest was a real lunker" because if the interview was lacking, it was his fault and not theirs.
As a Canadian, I have to say how lucky we were to have the best comic alive come and shed some light on our vastly overlooked country.  I hope Americans found it funny and maybe know a little bit more about their neighbor.  I hope all the controversy can be cleared up and forgotten and forgiven so that Conan can again soon return to our country.  My wish is that it will become an annual - or better yet - semi annual thing.
So to conclude... you won't ever see a funnier, more animated, sincere or charming comedian than Conan O'Brien.  I don't watch much TV.  Conan is the one and only show I make sure I watch regularly.  Never has there been a show where I didn't feel uplifted after... if laughter is the language of the soul, Conan is a soul whisperer... or something.  Nevermind.
I could describe Conan for hours but you have to see him for yourself to truely appreciate.
