Muraki Kazutaka is the villain in this story. He is a doctor who is searching for the perfect body, and he finds that in the shinigami's immortal body. He finds humans weak and kills them mercilessly in his search for power. He is most likely insane, even though he doesn't act like it. His right eye is apparently mechanical, and he keeps it hidden most of the time. When Muraki was a child, he saw a picture of the living Tsuzuki in his grandfather's patient files, and fell in love with him (or something like that). Muraki is always lusting after Tsuzuki, and takes every advantage to touch Tsuzuki (something that freaks Tsuzuki out). This makes both Hisoka and Tatsumi more protective of Tsuzuki. Muraki seems to have only one true friend: Oriya, who runs a high-classed whore house and tries to change his ways.

Konoe-kachou is the chief of the Shoukan Division. He is an old man, but don't underestimate him: he's a black belt in karate. He and Enma-Daio was the only one who knew about Tsuzuki's past. But then Hisoka got a blast of Tsuzuki's memories at one point in the story and found out. Konoe-kachou loves sweets as well, and every time Tsuzuki goes on assignment on earth, he orders Tsuzuki to bring him back sweets from the living world.

Terazuma and Wakaba are partner shinigami of sector 4. Terazuma hates woman, because every time he touches or is touched by a woman, he turns into a huge bat-winged, horned lion. Wakaba was partnered up with him because she is the only one who can spell him back to normal right away. The biggest shame of Terazuma's life is having turned into the monster when he touched Hisoka. In an archery competition, Terazuma hit a target that contained the order to give one of his teammates a passionate kiss or else lose points. Through a strange twist of events, Tsuzuki and Hisoka were Terazuma's teammates, and Terazuma didn't want to kiss Tsuzuki because they hated each other's guts (also because the Count threaten him not to), so he decided on Hisoka. He tried to think of Hisoka as a woman, but succeeded all too well, causing him to turn into a monster. Terazuma probably likes Wakaba, but is too shy to admit it. Terazuma turns into a monster because he has a parasite shikigami living inside of him, thus the marks below his eyes and his pointed ears.

Saya and Yuma are EXTREMELY friendly shinigami of sector 9. Like Tsuzuki, they have no taste buds whatsoever, so therefore they're the only ones who can stand Tsuzuki's cooking and say they like it... Saya and Yuma love to glomp Hisoka, and always try to get him to wear the dresses they make for him.

Tatsumi Seiichiro is the secretary of Konoe-Kachou (the chief of the shinigami), but is rumored to be the real head of the department. He squeezes every penny he can out of everyone, usually because Tsuzuki destroys so much on his missions and they have to pay for the damages. Tsuzuki has to work without pay for at least a hundred years before he can pay off his debt and then Tatsumi will fire him for all the times he's destroyed unnecessarily on his assignments. Tatsumi used to be Tsuzuki's partner, but he was broken-hearted to see Tsuzuki cry after every assignment, since Tsuzuki's sad about having to take people's lives. Tsuzuki reminded Tatsumi of his mother, who used to have the same sad expression in her eyes. Finally, he couldn't take it anymore and left Tsuzuki, because he didn't want to hurt Tsuzuki like he hurt his mother (I don't know much about that yet because I don't have vol. 5). Tatsumi really cares about Tsuzuki because of that, even if he does bully him into doing work without pay all the time.
