Second Chances Part 3 by Keiko
Standard Disclaimers: Characters don't belong to me, even if I wish they did, especially Chichiri and Tasuki. Okay, yada yada yada, disclaimers done. A little Seiryuu humiliation in this part... Slight shonen ai again, rather obvious, I suppose. I don't have to tell you that ~ ~ indicates thought again, do I?
When everyone was assembled around Suzaku like good little constellations, the god began to speak, The reason you can't reincarnate yet is because there are supposed to be seven of you together, and there are only five right now. It is my wish that all of you go together. I'm sure you'd like to wait for Chichiri and Tasuki. They are, after all, your friends. The only reason you all want to be reincarnated is to see the miko again, right? So I'm sure she wouldn't like it if some of you were missing. It'll be a while before Chichiri and Tasuki joins you, so why don't you all make yourselves comfortable. You can watch them or Miaka through the mirror. The five crowded around the mirror, eager to see what was happening in the real world. There was a brief argument over who to see first, but everyone quickly decided that theyd check on Miaka, and then on their fellow seishi. Suzaku breathed a sigh of relief. He slipped away before any of his seishi noticed. It was time to visit a certain brother of his. When he appeared in Seiryuu's quarters, Seiryuu was sealed inside a red orb, enraged and attempting escape. Genbu and Byakko were already there, sitting and watching Seiryuu's futile attempts in amusement. Damn you, aniki! Let me out! Seiryuu roared at Suzaku with fury. Genbu chortled with laughter; Byakko just snorted. Suzaku smiled smugly. I guess I win this time, Seiryuu; you were good, but not good enough to beat your aniki yet. Mwahahaha, that's what you get for always trying to uproot us, ototo. A few hundred years ago, you invaded my country, this time it was Suzaku's, and maybe even Byakko's next time, ne? We might let you out in a couple of thousand years if you behave. Genbu laughed again, fully amused with his youngest brother. Byakko rolled his eyes, then narrowed them to hiss at Seiryuu, You had your seishi kill my favorite warrior, the nerve of you! Byakko's feline eyes began to glitter, I ought to teach you a lesson while you're still in there... Suzaku quickly stepped between them, That's enough, both of you. He turned to Seiryuu, Almost all of your seishi are dead. When the last one joins the rest, you should go ahead and reincarnate them into the real world. They deserve that much. This time, give them better lives, will you? Seiryuu turned away and muttered something unintelligible. Genbu, sitting closest to him, caught the words, I didn't want them to turn out that way, but it was necessary... I didn't mean to... *********************** Two figures stood in silence in front of five graves. Finally, one of them spoke tentatively, shuffling his feet, Ne, Chichiri, what're you going to do now? Chichiri was holding his mask in both hands. He hesitated, then replied, I... I think that I'll go back to wandering... no da. Tasuki was quiet for a moment. Then, Ne, can I come with you? Chichiri looked surprised at such a request. Tasuki looked embarrassed, I don't much feel like going back to Mt. Leikaku right now, and I don't think I can ever go back to being just Genrou. Too much has happened. I... I just need to be with someone who can understand me right now. So is it okay? Chichiri smiled, Hai, of course you can travel with me no da. *********************** ~So... It'll be a while before they return to me.~ Suzaku watched over his two warriors. He looked closer. ~Nani? What's that on their pinkies... OH! Hm... well, those two are good for each other...~
Keiko's rant: Ughh, I can't believe I wrote that. That scene with Chichiri and Tasuki was so awkward. So does everyone understand the pinky part? Near the end? For those of you who don't, here's a brief explanation. Asians (or maybe it's just the Japanese) believe that on each person's pinky there is an invisible red thread that ties the person to the person they're supposed to be with, ie. true love. Yep, you got it, I'm a Chichiri/Tasuki fan. *grins showing a fang* Okay, go back to Part 2, go on to Part 4, go back, take your pick.
