The Forest
The faint crackling of twigs;
an occasional call
from a frightened bird;
the steady throbbing cry
of the cicadas on the tree trunks;
a shrill piping from a frog
and the summing-up,
haunting melody of an owl
complete an orchestra of tiny sounds
