Minor ii7(b5)-V7(#5#9) cycles
Minor ii-V cycles are obviously closely related to a normal ii-V-I cycle. This cycle however, is used when going to a minor chord. Mostly, in Gospel, in minor chords you can go to with this progression are either a ii chord or a vi chord.

Lets go to the key of G major. A vi chord in the key of G would be an E minor. So, the ii-V of E minor is (just count up the minor scale) F# (ii) and B (vi). Now lets add our alterations to those chords.
                                 F#7(b5) (R.H. E-F#-A-C/ L.H. F#-E)
                                                          and
                                       B7(#5#9) (Eb-G-A-D/ B-A)

                                                   For Example.
When I think about the Lord   in G

                                          G                D/F#               Em
When I think about the Lord, how he saved me....

Now lets put in the minor ii-V cycle

                                          G       F#7(#5#9) B7(#5#9)  Em
When I think about the Lord,    how he saved me....

                                                      Amazing Grace

                                       D11   G                    Em
how sweet the  sound,     that     saved a wretch like me.

                                   D11     G    F#7(#5#9) B7(#5#9)  Em
how sweet the   sound,          that                saved a wretch like me.
