Tales of Destiny System: Playstation Date: 1997 The was the sequel to Tales of Phantasia which came out only in Japan for the SNES. Graphics: Tales of destiny looks like a great SNES game, but this is the Playstation so that won't cut it. Still nice 2d. SCORE: 5 Music: Standard RPG fare. SCORE: 5 Story: Dull storyline that gets recycled over and over toward the end of the game. SCORE: 4 Gameplay: Their many, many, many random encounters is this game, luckily the game battle system is great. You fight on a 2d plane in real time, somewhat like Star Ocean 2 only in 2d. SCORE: 8 Innovation: The battle system is great and quite impressive while the rest of the game is just derivative of so many rpgs before it. SCORE: 7 Replay: There are lots of secrets in this game, including a gigantic hidden dungeon. Most of the secrets are so well hidden you will need a f.a.q just to find them. SCORE: 7 Overall: An above average game but still quite flaw due to high encounter rate and lame story. SCORE: 6.5 |
