Defenders of Oasis System: Game Gear Date: 1991 A rare find indeed, the fact that I ever played this game is a miracle let alone the fact that I have played through it about 4 times. Oh ya, this was also my first RPG, the game that started my Interest. Graphics: This game was made in 1991 and for the Game Gear, what do you think? SCORE: 3 Music: The music in this game is not bad, while most of the tunes are average there are some standouts like the escape theme near the beginning of the game, which is great. SCORE: 6 Story: The story of the game revolves around standard themes such as war and adventure. my surprise this game has fair character development. SCORE: 5 Gameplay: Simple turn based battles, it's simple uncomplicated and fun. SCORE: 5.5 Innovation: The fact that an old school style RPG with a mid eastern feel would make it to the Game Gear and then to the U.S is quite impressive. Btw, the game breaks no new ground. SCORE: Little Replay: I replayed this game 4 times mostly because this game was all I had for a RPG's for a time and because it was short(only about 10 hours). Also the nostalgia feel of this game was strong because it was my first RPG. For most once will be just fine.
