About Me

Illusion of Gaea.

System: SNES

Date: 1994

This was the sequel to the hard to find Soul Blazer.

Graphics: Bright, colorful and well draw, would describe the look of this game. The enemies are cool looking and back in the day there was quite a bit of eye candy.

SCORE: 7

Music: The music is very good, the themes all have a flavor to them that adds to the environment you’re in, and the sound quality is excellent. The sound of a hollow out echoing and strange drumming, has you believe there is more to meets the eye. Anytime music in a game makes you really notice your surroundings and is strange rhythmic quality you know its good. Oddly though no track really stands out as great.

SCORE: 8+

Story: The story follows the path of a young boy in somewhat different circumstances than the normal youth takes on the world story .Due to the leaner nature of the game you really get quite an adventure. Also of note is the ending, which really seems to try to tackle the mysteries of the world better than most other RPG out there.

SCORE: 8

Innovation: Nothing ground breaking in this game, but the overall game is a gem that moves RPGs a head and not behind.

SCORE: 6

Replay: Very linear, so not much replay value. You may want to play again because it’s a good game.

SCORE: 2

Overall: Great game.

SCORE: 8+
