Dragon Warrior System: NES Date of Release: 1986 Dragon Warrior was one of the first RPG's ever made; it was also the first in the long running Dragon Quest series (Warrior is U.S). Graphics: Simple sprites and town are the norm in this game. Spell animation is non-existent. Due to the limitations of the system and the fact that this was a first generation game the color pallet is very bland. SCORE: 4 Music: Simple melodies and generic medieval tunes are all you'll hear in this game, Story: The hero saves the princess story is played out but at that point it was a "New and innovative tale"... sort of. SCORE: 2 Gameplay: Solid one party team keeps thing simple. There are a small amount of items and weapons but fun nonetheless. SCORE: 5.5 Innovation: This game is an RPG pioneer but I just can't give it an amazing score. Maybe if I had played it when it first came out, but then I would have been 4. SCORE: 8++ Replay: Such a simple game I doubt most will find any if not no replay value in this game. SCORE: 1 Overall: A good if not simple game. SCORE: 5.5 |
