Breath of Fire 3

System: Playstation

Date: 1998

This was the 3 game in Capcom's "ground breaking" Breath of Fire series.

Graphics: Well finally we see some decent graphics. The visual in this game are bright and colorful as are the monster and towns folk. The spells are neat to look at, but nothing out of this world.

SCORE: 7.5

Music: Imagine jazz... now imagine techno not imagine really bad musicians playing the jazz and techno. Ok now imagine the bad jazz and techno tapes got mix together and were playas Midi's and have Breath of Fire 3'5 sound track. This is by far the worse music in any RPG I have ever heard. It makes me want to turn off the sound cause I developed a headache listening to it.

SCORE: -6

Note: To be realistic I would give it a 0.

Story: Another Breath of Fire another bad story.

SCORE: 3

Gameplay: Finally some more interesting stuff, slightly more. This game features a cool way to do more powerful dragon attacks. Just like the first two the main character can turn into a dragon, only in this game you can to all kinds of customize of the dragon you want to turn into. Also, similar to FF6's accessory system, Breath of Fire 3 has masters you can apprentice for. Doing so means when you level up you can get stat increases. Though the systems of this game are derivative of others it is still fun, in a way.

SCORE: 5.5

Innovation: The 2 new systems in this game along with the enhancements in the fishing make for some innovation.

SCORE: 3

Replay: There are many masters to apprentice for and secret treasures to find, thus making this game the most repayable of the series.

SCORE: 4

Overall: Another bland installment in a bland series.

SCORE: 5.5
