Keith Boyzone Lands Movie Role - April 5, 2001

Boyzone star Keith Duffy has landed the lead role in a new action movie.
Keith hopes to make his big screen mark in the World War II movie "Concealment," which will be filmed in Britain and Germany later this year.

The thriller revolves around a German plane destined for Scotland, which vanishes with a secret on board. Two men then embark on a deadly mission to find the plane.

Keith says, "I'll play Tony, one of the two guys on the mission. I'm realy looking forward to doing it and hopefully it will be released sometime in 2002."

Keith, one of the last people to be evicted from the "Celebrity Big Brother" house during a charity show, has been inundated with TV and film offers ever since.

He adds, "I've had several other big offers and at the moment they are in negotiation."

KEITH DUFFY NEWS - worldpop news from 29.march 2001
Keith Duffy is to take over the hot seat at one of Ireland's top morning radio shows on Friday 30 March.

The Boyzone singer will present the Liveline phone-in show on RTE, in the absence of its regular presenter, Joe Duffy. Keith will be taking calls from the public on issues of the day in Ireland as well as spinning some records, though no-one at RTE is confirming whether fellow Boyzone singer, Ronan Keating's latest will be included on the playlist.

Another of Boyzone's members, Shane Lynch, launched a harsh verbal attack on the ever- successful Ronan, whose self-titled debut album topped the UK charts, when he branded the blond singer 'too posh to speak to anyone unless they're called Sir'. Keith, however, has wisely kept out of the latest in-group niggles, although it was understood that he was angry at Ronan's alleged lack of commitment to a Boyzone reunion tour.

Keith, meanwhile, has admitted he has limited singing talent and indeed his only musical attempt away from Boyzone, a duet with Lynch, failed to hit the UK's Top 20. But the father of two has made no secret of his desire to pursue a career as a presenter and has already co-hosted a children's TV show for the BBC entitled Fully Booked. He also won over more fans during this month's Celebrity Big Brother show in aid of Comic Relief in which he was cooped up in a houseful of other celebrities under the full-glare of the general public. It's been rumoured that Keith is a favourite for the BBC's new Saturday morning show, following the axing of Live & Kicking.
