These funds are for reimbursement for any medical care given to the Dog prior to this adoption. No monies shall be used in any way as a money-making venture. Any funds/donations received in excess of the amount spent on the Dog prior to adoption shall be returned by the Rescue Coordinator to the Regional or National Keeshond Rescue Committee from which it was received.
The Owner and Rescue Coordinator listed above hereby agree to the following conditions as set forth by the Regional and/or National Rescue Committee:
1. The Owner at all times will keep this dog as a house pet, confined from traffic, with access to a fenced yard or leash, properly sheltered, with regular veterinary care, adequate food and water.
2. The Dog shall be maintained in an environment of love and attention. The Dog will be handled in such a way as to instill trust in people.
3. The Owner will not allow this Dog to be used for any medical or experimental purposes, nor shall the Dog be chained or tied or allowed to live at any place of business away from the Owner's home.
4. The Dog shall not be used for breeding.
5. If the Dog is not already neutered/spayed, he Dog shall be neutered/spayed within thirty (30) days of the date of this contract. A statement signed by the veterinarian that the spay/neuter operation has been performed will be sent to the Rescue Coordinator. If this is not done within the time frame stated, the Dog shall be returned immediately, gratis to the Rescue Coordinator, who retains legal ownership until this item is completed.
6. If there is any circumstance that arises that make it necessary for the Owner to give up the Dog, the Dog shall be returned to the Rescue Coordinator or arrangements will be made to have the Rescue Coordinator assist in placement of the Dog. The dog is not to be given or sold to anyone, under any circumstance, without written permission from the Rescue Coordinator.
7. The Owner will notify the Rescue Coordinator, in writing, of any address or phone number change. This shall be done within thirty (30) days of such change.
8. The Owner, realizing that Keeshonds have an average life span of fifteen (15) years, intend to keep this Dog as their beloved companion for its lifetime.
9. The parties in this contract shall remain in contact with each other throughout the lifetime of the Dog. This shall be for followup and to answer any questions that may arise.
If, within thirty (30) days, the Owners find the Dog is unsuitable, they will return the Dog to the Rescue Coordinator and half of the fee/donation will be refunded.
Any and all suits for the breech of, or enforcement of this contract will be brought in the county of _____________ in the state of ___________ and the laws of the state of _____________shall apply.
