The off campus bonfire has
the following defining elements:
Design�
We have a design prepared by licensed
professionals.�
We have designed a single stack Teepee
shaped bonfire.
Bonfire will be "tiered" to look like
bonfires of recent past.
Construction
We have a construction plan prepared
and approved by licensed� professionals.
� The time for construction will
be limited.� (8am - 12am Midnight)�
� No work from midnight to sunrise
will be allowed.�
Annual Compliance Review
of Project�
After the bonfire project is completed,
the entire project will be reviewed for compliance with all design, construction,
behavioral, and���� other objectives. A successful
review will result in the authorization of allowing the following year
bonfire construction project.� The� review will also include
efficiency, use of manpower and detailed safety reports.
Expanded Professional Oversight�
Every step of the process will include
the oversight of professionals.
� Daily inspections from one or more
professionals involved with the���� design of bonfire.
Safety Program�
We have a safety plan prepared by licensed
professionals.�
� We have a more inclusive student
leadership selection process.
�� Foremen, Team Leaders and
Safety Leaders will make up the bulk� of the leadership and be responsible
for their work groups.�
Cut�
Cut will be completed by students.
�� The majority of cut will
be done on weekends and afternoons to��������
minimize academic conflicts.
�� Only students who have participated
in an Industry Standard Cut Safety Class will participate.
�� Hard hats, steel toed shoes
and safety glasses will be required to enter the site.
Cut Site
Cut site is approximately 5 miles from
campus on Highway 30.� This minimizes driving time of students participating.
�� Cut site will be gated and
is fenced.� Zero tolerance for alcohol.�
The gate will be manned by a high level manager and a breathalyzer���
will be on hand if alcohol consumption is suspected.
