| Born in Arlington, a suburb of Washington D.C., a daughter of the German opra singer Helga Meyer and the American voice coach John Bullock. She has a younger sister Gesine, who is now a lawyer, broke Sandra's nose as a child by opening the garage door into Sandra's face. Sandra got her first taste of acting at the age of 8. She assumed the role of a gypsy child in a play with her mother. Helga claims that since the sixth grade, Sandra had her mind set to be an actress. Sandra has a scar above her right eye, that she got when she tumbled into a creek and cut her head on a rock, at the age of 11. Sandra spent the first twelve years of her life between Salzburg, Austria, (where she still likes to vacation) and Arlington, Virginia, as her mother's work required her to be in both places. Her family moved back to Washington D.C. while she was a teenager. She went to Washington Lee High School in Arlington, where she was an above average student. She was a cheerleader (as you can she in the pic above), and voted "most likely to brighten up your day" by her senior class. She graduated in 1982. She then went on to attend East Carolina University in Greensville, where she majored in Drama. Here she performed in Chkhov's Three Sisters, studying under the instruction of Don Biehn. She then dropped out (3 credits short of graduating) to persue acting. Her acting journey first brought her to New York,where she studied method acting, instructed by Sanford Meisner. For money she dishonestly attained a bartending job. Then she moved on to L. A. Four years after leaving ECU, Sandra landed the lead in the NBC sitcom Working Girl, which she later thought of as her "quickest flop". While working on the movie Love Potion No. 9 Sandra fell in love with co-star Tate Donavan. Theu where engaged for a while, but Tate called it off. The ending of that relationship left Sandra heartbroken. She eventually did recover and now has a long term relationship with rock guitarist Bob Schneider. She replaced Lori Petty in the movie Demolition man. Her breakthough preformance was as Annie, the cute average girl, in the blockbuster speed. She got her first lead roll as Lucy in While You Where Sleeping, a part origanally ment for Demi Moore. Later that year she start in the smash hit The Net. She didn't score big again untill the 1999 hit Forces of Nature. She then starred as an alcoholic in 28 days. And her newest movie Miss Congeniality is currently doing very well in the rental charts. |
