DON'T

Don't come to me with ice cold lips.
I need them moist and warm,
the way the moss is against a tree,
after a summer's storm.

Don't come to me with hollow eyes.
I need them glowing bright,
the way the stars shine in the sky,
on a moonless,clear, dark night.

Don't come to me with dishonest hands.
I need them to touch true,
the way the drops touch a rose,
after a morning dew.

Don't come to me with a lying heart.
I need one giving love,
the love a mother gives her child,
sent from God above.

I'll never come to you my love,
with things to crush your soul.
My promise that I give to you,
Is my love will never go.
