| Jaffa Challenge to get Sponsership |
| I know it sounds crazy, but the Jaffa Challenge is attempting to get sponsership for future Jaffa Challenges by appealing to McVities and the legendary "Orange Man" himself, David Dickinson (for you losers who do not know who DD is), the host of Bargain Hunt. Yes it will be an audacious bid, but the Jaffa Organisers are fed up of paying for the Jaffa Cakes every time. And they have reasoning for their selection of sponsers. McVities, of course, will be the obvious choice because they are the makers of the best Jaffa Cakes around. It is said that the organisers of the Jaffa Challenge will comment on the excessive promotion of the product with the competitions and alone they have bought over 1000 Jaffa Cakes for these competitions - they may not have eaten them all but they certainly have bought them! But personally, I think there is more chance of "The Duke" sponsering them. McVities are a large organisation and I'm not sure that they care for small competitions arranged by students. They will probably throw the letter in the bin immediately. But David "The Duke" Dickinson has heart and cares for his fans. Many of the Jaffa Competitors and Organisers are great fans of DD and his show, including current Jaffa King, Bertie Passaro. Even if it is a small amount, I think David will be pleased such a competition admires him. It is also rumoured that Jaffa Organisers will offer him a special page on the website and even a Jaffa Name, which is a priveledge only given to competitors of the Jaffa Circuit. Well, we will have to wait and see what the replies are which will be posted on this site, as and when it happens. JO |
