| Although, for some strange reason, I can't properly remember what happened in this contest, *cough*, I know it was a historical event in Jaffa Cake Eating Contests. It was the first time that a female had taken part in the Jaffa World, and from her disgraceful performance, she will no doubt be the last. The contest was a spur of the moment thing, two friends arguing, Jaffa Cakes were handy so off they went, but despite this it has had the best atmosphere of a Jaffa match I have ever experienced. The crowd was loud and rowdy, and a little drunk, but nevertheless, it was an experience that most wouldn't forget because of the shock to come. The Jaffa King, Das, got off to his usual good start, pacing himself, but putting those Jaffa Cakes away like there was no tomorrow. The inexperienced Griffiths was slow, and really didn't know what he had got herself into, as the male-dominated attendance started to up the volume of the cheers and inspire Das to his 2nd victory. "The Belly from Dehli" had reached the 40 mark when it was first noticed that Anna and her associates were sneaking Jaffas under the table, and if it wasn't for a loud drunk Jaffa fan, they would have got away with their cheating. But I think its only fair that I mention that Griffiths wasn't actually part of the cheating. Her "so-called" friends saw her being demolished by the awesome Das and decided to help her out, but instead they cost her a higher place in the Jaffa Rankings. And if I recall correctly she was on approximately 25 at the time, poor Anna. But, yet again, Das strolled to victory although it was even easier this time. He was raised high on his chair by the crowd and taken outside to celebrate. Then a chant of "In the pond!" made the Indian scamper to safety while the rest of the fans enjoyed the rest of the evening. |
