"Hear O' Israel, HaShem is our G-d, HaShem alone"

Hosea 11:1

The missionaries will say Hosea 11:1b points to Jesus and says that "Out of Egypt I called my son." They may also say that Matt2:15 shows that Jesus came out of Egypt.

The Reply is: Hosea 11:1 in its entirety says (JPS): "I fell in love with Israel when he was still a child; and I have called [him] my son ever since Egypt."

The meaning is plain when read in context: Israel has being called son by G-d ever since the exodus from Egypt. Again, this does not refer to Jesus.
