The U.S. Forest Service in compliance with 1996 congressionally approved Recreation Fee Pilot Demonstration Program is preparing to eliminate the remaining few free campgrounds in Lake Isabella.  These campgrounds  are known as Auxiliary Dam, Old  Isabella Road, & South Fork Recreation Area.

We oppose the charging of any fees at any of these lakeside campgrounds, which have always been FREE!  As taxpayers, we have already paid for these recreational areas through our federal taxes.  It's unjust to tax us again every time we step foot on OUR public land.

We Ask That:

• The funding be restored to the U.S. Forest Service's recreation budget so that the Forest Service could continue to run & maintain the above reference campgrounds & not be forced into collecting fees.
• Our legislators cancel the Recreation Fee Pilot Demonstration Program.  Lake Isabella campground users do not wish to be part of this experiment or any other program that would result in fees.

• Send letters.   If you live in CA, WA, NH, CO, UT, NM, MT, WV or AK, this is an extremely important message/alert! (includes a sample letter for you to download)
